Accessibility statement

We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website without barriers. This accessibility statement describes the current status of accessibility on alt-berlin-wob.de and how you can contact us with feedback or complaints.

Scope

This statement applies to the publicly accessible website of Das Alt-Berlin at https://alt-berlin-wob.de, including all subpages in German and English (e.g. menu, reservation, contact and legal pages). It does not cover third-party content loaded after consent (e.g. embedded Google Maps) or PDF documents offered for download.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the accessibility requirements.

We continuously work on improving accessibility and review new content and features against WCAG 2.1 AA where reasonably possible.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, the following limitations are currently known or may occur:

  • Some images, especially in the gallery and on event pages, may not yet have comprehensive alternative text in all cases.
  • PDF menus for download are not fully accessible and are offered as an additional format alongside the HTML menu.
  • Embedded external content (Google Maps) is only loaded after consent and is subject to the accessibility of the third-party provider.
  • Some decorative or historical visual elements prioritise the pub’s traditional appearance; contrast or readability may be reduced in isolated places.
  • The reservation wizard and interactive components are designed to be keyboard-operable; individual steps may still require optimisation for screen readers.
